About Tibor

Tibor Attila Szabo is a Hungarian-born photographer, filmmaker, and amateur violinist with the determination to save the Arts and help create a flourishing art scene in San Francisco. Szabo came to the United States as a political refugee in the early 90s, staying in a refugee camp to earn his Visa for over 18 months. Today, he is an untiring voice for the fine artists in the Bay Area and beyond. His longtime support of music and love for Balkan, folk, classical, and jazz led to hosting Art and Music Salons in the Hayes Valley. His newest endeavor is a program to bring classic arts – sculpting, painting, film, photography, dance, culinary arts, etc. – to new audiences, especially underprivileged children. Tibor’s own two teenage children are top-rate martial artists and classical musicians. In 2015, after moving from Salle Pianos and Events, Tibor Szabo established The XXIVth Hour nonprofit project with the determination to make a difference for the soul of the city.
